Pet Classics will be hosted by Classic FM presenter Charlotte Hawkins- and alongside the music- it will feature dedications to listeners’ pets as well as advice from the RSPCA for any owners looking to reassure their animals. Both shows are set to be packed with the most soothing and comforting classical music, handpicked by the radio station to create a safe space for people's pets. Many kennels and rehoming centres use the power of classical music to decrease stress levels amongst their furry residents. The survey also discovered playing soothing was the most common way (36 per cent) to help relax or prepare their animals, along with taking their animal elsewhere (29 per cent). Recently, a survey by the RSPCA revealed that two-thirds (63 per cent) of animal owners reported that their four-legged friends were distressed during firework season. However for our pets- the loud bangs and bright lights can be quite frightening.Īfter successful previous years, Classic FM will be returning with its soothing playlist to help anxious pets - and their owners - stay calm and relaxed during November events. Firework season is an exciting time of year as colourful displays light up the sky and bonfires go up in flames.
